Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who took office in 2024, set the goal of rebuilding ties with the country's largest trading partner. As he himself pointed out on X (formerly Twitter): "It's time to look ahead – decision distant from idle political disputes and find applicable solutions to improve the lives of the British".
