A power failure at the Google Cloud data center in London caused a disruption of net services in Europe on Tuesday, including electronic banking," reported AFP and Reuter agencies. The problems have been reported, among others, by British net bank Revolut and bank Lloyds.
Google reported that the origin of the crash was problems with the power supply of the company's cloud infrastructure in London, in a region marked as europe-west2-b. Interferences began at 6.08 GMT (8.08 Polish time) and caused many errors and periodic interruptions in operation of the network. The company announced a partial restoration of services.
Revolut confirmed disruptions in the operation of many services, including card payments and withdrawals from ATMs. "We have been working on solving the problem since its detection this morning. We can confirm that the money and data of all our customers are safe" - said the bank spokesperson in a message for AFP.
