In the coming days, more NATO aircraft will be seen over Poland. Operations Command of the RSZ explains that this is an component of exercises in east Sentry operations, not a reaction to the current usage of Russian long-range aviation. For Poland this means a real test of the defence of the east flank.

Allied machines over Poland

The increase of NATO aviation activity is to be seen above Poland. Virtual Poland reportedthat the spokesperson for the Operations Command of the Armed Forces Types Colonel Jacek Goryszewski pointed to ongoing allied exercises conducted as part of Operation east Sentry. The military calms down: this is simply a planned action, not a signal of abrupt danger from Russian long-range aviation.

For a average observer, this means more machines in the sky and more traffic visible on the services tracking flights. For the Polish country, the importance is more serious. The Alliance examines procedures, communications, air refueling, reconnaissance, command and cooperation with Polish forces. These are the elements that in times of crisis find whether defence is simply a declaration or a real ability.

Eastern Sentry and a lesson after Russian provocations

Operation east Sentry was announced by NATO on 12 September 2025 after the Russian drones violated the Polish airspace. As reported NATO in the authoritative description of the reinforcement of the east flankThe goal is to increase the vigilance and ability of the Alliance along the full east flank. Poland is simply a front country, not a spectator from the stands.

We wrote earlier that The president has agreed to carry out NATO Operation east Sentry in Poland. It's an crucial decision, but political consent is only the beginning. The real burden lies in the readiness of bases, radars, air defense, command and logistics. There's no area for success propaganda here.

Tankers, AWACS and electronic combat

Kresy.pl described the large traffic of allied machines over Poland on August 18, including air refueling aircraft, E-3A AWACS early informing machines and the American EA-37B Compass Call, a platform designed for electronic combat. According to media reports, U.S. F-35A was besides to participate in the activities. any of these flights can be seen in public, but the military doesn't show the full operational picture.

Good. A serious state does not turn military procedures into an net show. The citizen is to be informed if there is simply a threat and what means increased movement. The opponent should not be given a full map of the Alliance's M.O.

NATO helps, but Poland will not replace

The presence of allies is beneficial for Polish security. It needs to be made clear. The east flank of NATO without Poland is an abstraction, and Poland without allied support has a more hard task towards Russian pressure. National realism tells us to usage alliances, but not to confuse them with guaranteeing automatic peace.

Therefore, all specified activity should be an impulse for Warsaw to its own decisions: stronger air defense, faster purchases, efficient reserve, resilient infrastructure and better informing system. We've already written about it in the text. over 50 NATO machines over Poland: An allied show of force makes sense only erstwhile it strengthens Polish capabilities, alternatively than replaces Polish thinking.

Rate: Polish sky and Polish sovereignty

Russia is investigating the West where it senses delay, chaos and political softness. Poland cannot afford the comfort of countries far from the danger limit. Our sky, airports, radio-location systems and command centers are part of the real safety of families, cities and economies.

More NATO flights over Poland should not origin panic. It should rise demands. We want allies over the Polish sky, but above all, we want a country that understands the stake itself. An alliance is simply a tool. Polish sovereignty remains the goal.
