Why is Vladimir Putin so afraid of Tomahawk missiles?

On Sunday, Vladimir Putin again warned that the transportation of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine would "destroy Russian-American relations." This is another specified speech by the Russian leader; another, in which he almost openly expressed his fears about these American weapons. Why is he so afraid of Tomahawk missiles?
