Reactivation of the Coalition of Polish Affairs?
Andrzej Duda has so far not actually removed from himself a patch of the president closely connected with the Law and Justice or even loyal to this party, so he surely does not have the image of the president of all Poles, while trying to look for dialog on the right. The fact that Marcin Mastalerek became head of the president's office is meaningful. It is equally crucial that Mastalerek had already sent Jarosław Kaczyński to political retirement in conversation with Robert Mazurek at RMF FM.
President Duda in the final phase of his presidency, during the co-habitation period, will want to show a different face of the PiS. PAD is likely to run into the future and believes that the Law and Justice should be committed to gaining coalition capacity in order to regain power after the next parliamentary elections. According to Duda PiS, it cannot be a full opposition, an upturning social temper and a polarization of the PiS-PO duople. A motion towards the PSL, and thus entrusting the function of elder marshal Mark Sawicki is surely significant.
A fewer days ago, editor Marcin Fijołek of Polsat News recalled the President's initiative a fewer years ago:
"Three days before the 2020 election silence, president Andrzej Duda suggested the request for cooperation with the PSL and the Confederation. It was a run project. But I will not be amazed if the slogan + coalition of Polish affairs+ will 1 day – although most likely not present – return to the game".
If the PiS had listened to the President
Meanwhile, PiS suffered hiccups constantly attacking PSL and Confederacy with a view to maintaining a monopoly on the right. Meanwhile, the 3rd Road, contrary to the calculations of extremist representatives of the Novogrodzka group, did not fall under the electoral threshold, on the contrary, it got into the Sejm with excellent results. Meanwhile, Jarosław Kaczyński's organization suffered defeat. If Andrzej Duda had been listened to in the PiS camp in advance, we could have witnessed a completely different scenario.
The president doesn't want to belong to a hermetic environment.
Now president Duda will effort to get the presidential camp to cooperate primarily with PSL, which is simply a folk-conservative party, PAD wants to grow the right-wing environment, show goodwill towards conservatives outside the Law and Justice. He won't be in the airtight environment of the top radicals of the PiS. And entrusting elder marshal Sawicki's function is most likely the first crucial motion to the PSL, you can anticipate more soon.
President Duda will most likely now shun the extremist right, besides inside the Law and Justice, and intensify his cooperation with those politicians who will let him to think in the next years about creating a modern, fanatical coalition of centre-right forces.
