The organizer of the final competitions, which will choice for the ninth time Polish Army champions in the fight in close contact, is the 16th Mechanized Division. During the gala we will see 11 final fights. Among women with master belts will fight: in category up to 57 kg – st. wide. Justyna Kulińska of the 12th Mechanized Division and St. Alexander Gorzek of the Territorial Defence Forces, in the Cat. up to 67 kg – Col. Agata Zygmunt (12 DZ) and in the General Agata Wasiluk (WOT), and in the Cat. above 67 kg – Fr. The organizers initially planned 12 fights (in so many categories the AWL qualifying competitions were held). Unfortunately, 2 athletes – spit. Rafał Dawid (Capital of the Garrison Warsaw) and Sgp. Michał Rogowski (16 DZ) – suffered injury and will not be able to fight for the master belt. The competition from DGW was to face up to 60 kg with the rank Mateusz Hamerski (WOT). “Teritorians” will so receive a master belt without a fight. In turn, the injured typical of the hosts in a duel in a catfight of up to 85 kg will be replaced by another contestant of 16 DZ – Sr. Paweł Jakubowski. Its rival is to be st. wide. Wojciech Ozga from 18 DZ. The championship belt is at stake. Since Jakubowski is not the finalist of the qualifying tournament, regardless of the result of the fight he will not receive a medal, the typical of 18 DZ has already guaranteed a gold disc.
The bronze medals of the ninth edition of the Polish Army Championships in the mediate Kontakt were awarded during the qualification in Wrocław. On the eve of the Gala “We have a fight in our blood” on the pier in Ostróda there will be an authoritative weighing of the players. The gala, which can be viewed by as many as a 1000 spectators, will begin on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the amphitheater at Drwęcki Lake. Organizers invitation martial arts enthusiasts to the audience and remind them that admission to the organization is free. Earlier, as from 12 noon, in the parking lot by the amphitheater, you will see military equipment, which has 16 DZ.
Fighting in Close Contact – under the rules of amateur mixed martial arts – she entered the calendar of military events in April 2014. The inaugural competition – the First Combat Tournament in the mediate Contact for the Rector-Commander of the Higher Officership School of the Land Forces – was organized in Wrocław. They were designed by Major Maciej Kuprijanczyk. A year later, the Wrocław tournament had the rank of the Polish Army Championship. The first 5 championship medalists were selected in the WSOWL, and then in the Academy of Land Forces. In 2020, due to the pandemic the championship was not held, and since 2021 the championship has been organized in a fresh formula: AWL organizes elimination competitions in which the finalists and winners of bronze medals are selected, and the finals are held during a peculiar gala. Their hosts are different garrisons.
