In the mediate of the week, RIA Novosti reported that Gen. Walerij Gierasimov, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, would replace Gen. Sergei Surovikin as Chief Commander-in-Chief of the Invasion Forces active in fighting in the territory of Ukraine. The nomination has not only military but besides political implications.
