On Saturday, the president of Russia announced an Easter truce that would last for 30 hours — by 23 p.m. Polish time on Sunday. The leader of Ukraine informed respective minutes after Putin's declaration that the Russians were attacking Ukrainian positions.
Despite this, Volodymyr Zelenski declared that Kiev was open to a longer, even 30-day room. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Pieskov, however, said that there is no chance of this due to the fact that Putin did not give specified an order.
Shortly after the information was provided by the Kremlin, the U.S. State Department stated that it would welcome the extension of the Easter ceasefire announced by the Russian leader on Saturday.
