This message by the Ukrainian Minister of Interior Ihora Kłymenko should be linked to a study published on 10 January 2024 by the General Inspector of the Department of defence revealing that the U.S.** lost number of nearly 40,000 weapons sent to the front line of Ukraine from February 2022**. It noted that advanced technology and tiny size of this equipment, including drones, Javelin anti-tank missiles, Stinger anti-aircraft launchers and night imagination goggles with a value of over $1 billion, make it peculiarly attractive to smugglers and black marketplace traders. About 60 percent of the weapons were ‘outstanding’, meaning that they were not initially recorded in the tracking database or added after shipment from American magazines.
