According to ERR News, investigators established that from March to May 2025 Dmitriev had been in contact with Alexander Bobkow, an FSB Border defender officer, and for about 2 months he was transmitting data to him. FSB was curious in members of the Defence League, local life in Narva, political situation, the Castle Museum in Narva and the presence of Estonian Defence Forces (EDF) soldiers in the city.
