The event took place on 25 April in the Faculty of Natural Schools in Poznań, and respective twelve farmers and invited guests took part. The president of the Chamber, Mieczysław Łuczak, wanted the participants to share their observations on the current situation in agriculture and to present proposals and requests addressed to government institutions. respective farmers took the level from the stage. peculiarly emotional speeches were given by farmers from Rola Wielkopolski and Krzysztof Pietrzak. During their speeches, farmers reacted vividly, agreeing or adding their comments loudly.

One of the topics raised was to propose a zero VAT rate for agricultural machinery and to lower prices. Krzysztof Pietrzak pointed out the inefficiencies of agricultural production resulting from the requirements of the European Union.

– We see immense costs in the Union. There's adequate wheat on the planet stock market, and we request twice as much to make money. My costs are highly advanced – fertilizers, fuels, machines. No substance what we effort to jump, we will not make cheaper wheat than Ukraine or Russia, and why – due to the fact that they do not gotta worry about how much they will be from the border, what they will sow and when. How long do we want to keep up with the competition? Our wheat should cost EUR 350 to make us viable, and we want to pay 200. No wonder – there are people who do not do agriculture and what they are curious in – they will always go for cheaper ones. I wouldn't insult them, I'd adjust them by reducing costs. For example, we can return to the zero VAT rate for machines," said Krzysztof Pietrzak, 1 of the farmers who took part in the debate and continued on "Last year, each of us, who had to meet the requirements to plant a field of pollination, knew well what he had in that field – a large drought and a large pavement. I was in November. That's the perfect idea. We're being treated like idiots. Sorry about the language, but they're insulting us. – Pietrzak said.

"Nothing has been established, there is simply a nonstop discussion" – farmers do not want their work to be hampered

Farmers from the region of Rola Wielkopolska were besides invited to this event. They expressed their willingness to proceed and stressed that they would reorganise and go out on the streets if necessary.

– We had 2 meetings with the Prime Minister, 4 or 5 meetings with the Minister of Agriculture. Sebastian was at these meetings and he tells you – what I gotta tell you, he will show you an empty card – nothing has been set, there is simply a discussion going on all the time. We have ready solutions, we talk clearly – do not put a lock on our feet, let us produce, we will manage – said Adam Podolski.

One of the demands made by farmers in Roli Wielkopolski was to improve the labelling of products, for example meat, so that consumers could easy find the origin of the product.

– Let us give consumers more choice or information about whether the product is Polish," said Adam Podolski of Roli Wielkopolski.

The timeliness of fertilisation should be the work of farmers and not officials

Farmers from Roli Wielkopolski besides raised the question of the usage of nitrogen fertilisers.

– As of 2020 the anticipation of entry – 1 March. On February 25, the last rain fell, farmers left on March 1 and utilized nitrogen fertilizers – it did not rain for 40 days. What's the point? We would have even reduced the usage of this fertilizer ourselves, but let us usage it effectively – earlier – said Adam Podolski and continued – We would like to participate in any debate, but above all, that our vote should be taken into account. We request action.

Jolanta Nawrocka, a delegate to the National Council of Agricultural Chambers, asked representatives of Rola Wielkopolski about their position of cooperation with the Agricultural Chamber and the conditions under which they would like to conduct it. The answer was:

– We surely don't close the door here if you want a discussion, but how would you give us any data, problems to discuss and evaluate. frequently it is that people who are already at any level do not see what is happening at the bottom. However, it is besides crucial that these meetings consequence in something.
