U.S. Bold Quest 23 exercises ended, where, at the invitation of the Rocket Army and Artillery, a delegation of WB Groups with the TOPAZ strategy equipped with ASCA interface participated.
The representatives of the WB Group gathered praise from organizers for the flexibility and efficient execution of tasks. The exercises confirmed the correct implementation of the ASCA interface in the automated command strategy and control of the means of demolition as part of the combined TOPAZ fire support.
The Bold Quest 23 exercise on the code name Island Marauder was held at Camp Pendelton, U.S. Marine Base from August 25 to September 22, 2023. At the invitation of the Rocket Army and Artillery, a delegation of the WB Group participated.
Poland automated TOPAZ system with ASCA interface was utilized during JFS (Joint Fires Support) exercises.
In Bold Quest 23, 19 countries participated in the JFS group, of which fourteen were participants (including Poland with TOPAZ) and 5 as observers.
Participation in the exercises is related to TOPAZ's ability to cooperate with the ASCA interface. This is implemented under the contract concerning the modification of the Automated Fire Control Set (ZZKO) TOPAZ to the fresh TOPAZ standard (+).
In the first place the terminals with the installed TOPAZ strategy passed checks and were then allowed to join the BQMN (Bold Quest Mission Network). This is an American network dedicated to allies processing information about the SECRET/Releasable clause.
As part of Bold Quest 23 exercises, thirteen operational threads were performed with systems: Norwegian ODIN, German ADLER III, French ATLAS, Swedish THOR and English FC BISA.
The TOPAZ, via the ODIN strategy and utilizing the ASCA interface, did a fire task on call from the battlefield of the Polish Jasmin system.
Due to the deficiency of required functions in the ODIN system, 2 threads planned with Norwegian partners had to be abandoned.
