In Ukraine, the number of millionaires has increased dramatically

The State taxation Service of Ukraine provided data showing that during the Russian-Ukrainian War the number of millionaires in the country increased significantly. In 2024 there were 17 thousand, which means an increase of 6.6 1000 people compared to the erstwhile year.

Last year the Ukrainians declared income of 326 billion hryvnia (7.85 million dollars). This is an increase of 107 billion hryvnia compared to 2023.

The number of people who exceeded the income of 1 million hryvnia (24 1000 dollars) increased by 6.6 thousand. This means that in Ukraine 17,000 people made more than a million hryvnia.

"Totally millionaires declared gross of 253.6 billion UAH, agreed to pay 8.7 billion UAH taxation liabilities", said the head of the State taxation Administration in a communication.

The largest amounts were declared by the Kiev residents – 156 billion UAH. The second place was taken by residents of the Djepropetrovsk region – little than 30 billion UAH.

The next seats were taken by residents of Lviv and Kiev, respectively 18.2 billion and 17.5 billion UAH. For types of income, the first place was abroad income, which amounted to 34.2 billion UAH.

Second place included inheritances and donations (13.6 billion UAH), further income from the sale of movable and immovable assets (6.8 billion UAH), investment income (4.9 billion UAH), another taxable income (4 billion UAH). The last place was the property rental income (3.4 billion UAH).

"As a consequence of the declaration, citizens themselves have determined the payment of individual income taxation (PIT) – 8.1 billion UAH and military taxation – over 1.5 billion UAH", the Ukrainian administration said.

In addition, 1 of Kiev's residents is expected to have a evidence advanced taxation liability. It amounts to over 4.6 billion UAH, almost as much as Ukrainian investment income in their country in general.
