"Policy in 70, or even 80 percent, is simply a debate on history," wrote Juliusz Mieroszewski in the text "Russian “Polish Complement” and the ULB area", published in the Parisian “Kultura” in 1974. This conviction besides describes the drama of Polish-Ukrainian relations. During the war, past can be temporarily sidelined, covered by the necessity of military assistance, solidarity towards Russian aggression and the common safety interest. But it doesn't truly disappear. It comes back erstwhile the emotions of war are weak, erstwhile fatigue appears, erstwhile there is simply a deficiency of success on the front, and the public is increasingly asking not only about the future, but besides about the bill of harm, guilt and responsibility.
