Since September 1, 2024, grades in religion and ethics are not included in average grades. This is an irrevocable decision that applies to all establishments without exception. Nothing here alters the judgement of the Constitutional Court, which found not to include degrees of religion and ethics in average assessments to be unconstitutional. All due to the fact that so far no another normative act or decision has been published in the diary of Laws, which would have abolished this regulation.

"If the principals (schools) signal that they request an additional message, we will repeat what is apparent to us, that in the diary of Laws there is published a regulation on evaluation and it speaks very clearly what subjects number for the average" - said Katarzyna Lubnauer, Deputy Minister of Education in conversation with PAP, quoted by the Service Portal Local Government.pl.
Religion and ethics are no longer included in the average rating. But it's not the end of change.
Religion and ethics are no longer included in the average grade and so far have no influence on the promotion of the student to the next class. That does not change the fact that the grades of these 2 subjects will proceed to appear on the certificate just under performance evaluation. Furthermore, from September 2025, religion and ethics will only be organized 1 hr a week and only on the first or last lesson of the day. And that's not all. In the following years, the place and form of religion is to change. For any of her lessons are to be transferred to catechical halls. But we don't know the details yet.
