Next week there will be a key gathering of the alleged "voluntary coalition" to discuss the possible military presence of peace forces in the fallen Ukraine. The initiative, led by Britain and France, is gaining expanding global support.
Meeting of the “Volunteers Coalition”: What do we know?
According to the prestigious Politico service, the gathering will be held next week and will take 3 days. The host will be British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The main subject of the talks will be the concept of creating an global military contingent to monitor possible ceasefire in Ukraine.
Preliminary calls have already been made. On Thursday, military aspects related to the ceasefire were discussed in the London headquarters. As highlighted by the participants, the initiative aims to guarantee stableness and safety in the region.
United Kingdom sets the conditions: Without the US, neither move
A spokesperson for the British Prime Minister reported that more than 30 countries have joined the “coal of willing” and many are ready to send their troops to Ukraine. However, Britain has a condition: without a safety warrant from the United States it will not send its peacekeeping forces.
Minister of Armed Forces Luke Pollard stressed that providing peace in Ukraine would require not only land forces, but besides strong air force and naval units. This comprehensive approach is intended to guarantee the effectiveness of the mission.
International support: Australia and Lithuania ready to act
Australia besides expressed readiness to send its soldiers to Ukraine. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese pointed out that the country is "open to any proposals" regarding the possible deployment of troops as part of a peacekeeping mission.
Lithuania's president Gitanas Nausėda, in a Bloomberg tv interview in Brussels, confirmed that Lithuania is ready to send troops to Ukraine as part of a mission after the ceasefire. This is another signal that the initiative is gaining global support.
Moscow reaction: Will Russia accept NATO presence?
Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it will not consent to NATO troops in Ukraine after a possible ceasefire. Russia considers this to be a violation of its sphere of influence. Therefore, the implementation of the “coalition of willing” plans may face serious diplomatic obstacles. In the light of the above, it should be noted that Euro-Colochos politicians intend to lead their stupid ideas to escalate the conflict.
