Hennig-Kloska reported that the process of analysing all protests concerning logging in state forests and all protected facilities had begun. She pointed out that the number of protests was crucial and that it was possible that the first decisions on this substance would be made later this year. However, she stressed that this process required due to the large number of parties involved. In addition, work has already been started on the law on social forest supervision.
We can besides anticipate improvement in the management of State Forests. The climate minister stressed that it was planned to reduce logging. She besides indicated that the export of Polish wood would be reduced.
22 years without a fresh national park
In Poland we have 23 national parks, which cover 1% of the full area of the country. The Pieninski National Park, founded in 1932, is the oldest, while the youngest is the National Park estuary of Warta, which was established in 2001.
Due to industrial advancement and intensive logging, the state should pay more attention to environmental protection. National parks are 1 of the best examples of specified protection. Unfortunately, no fresh national park has been established in Poland since 2001.
The dramatic slowdown in the expansion of national parks took place in 2000. Previously, parks were created through a regulation, based on a unilateral decision of the Council of Ministers. After 2000, local governments gained the right to object to the decision to make and grow the borders of national parks.
Turkish Invisible National Park
There is an unofficial national park in Poland, whose problems have just come from the above mentioned changes in regulations. The fight for the creation of the Turnic National Park has continued continuously since the 1980s, but unfortunately this place remains “invisible”. Initially, the authorities explained this deficiency of funds in the state budget, but over time the amendment of the nature conservation law, which was introduced in 2000, became an obstacle.
“ Imagine an Invisible National Park, ” says the activists on the Turnic National Park website. He was not appointed by an authoritative act. There was no glow of flash and red ribbon. It has created the will and energy of citizens."
There is hope that thanks to affirmative changes to nature conservation and the extension of green areas, in any time the Turnicki National Park will become an authoritative park.
