In Poland we have many parties, but 2 ideologies
1. Liberal democracy
A strategy in which human freedom is simply a fundamental value. The state is for man, not man for state.
Politically speaking, liberal democracy means primarily:
the rights and freedoms of the individual, regardless of nationality;
equality before the law;
freedom of speech, conscience and religion;
independent courts;
division of authorities;
protection of minorities;
limiting the power of the majority;
support and assistance to Ukraine attacked by Russia;
international cooperation, including support for EU membership.
Therefore, in liberal democracy it is not adequate to win elections. The rulers must proceed to respect the constitution and rights of citizens.
In an economical sense liberalism usually supports private property, entrepreneurship and the free market. However, there are different varieties of it: from free marketplace liberalism to social liberalism, which combines freedom with social security.
Simple as that: Liberal democracy means that the state is for man, not man for state.
In the Polish Sejm, the most crucial democratic parties are:
Civil Coalition – 156 Members;
Polish People's organization – 3rd Road – 32;
Left – 21;
Centre – 15;
Poland 2050 – 14;
Total – 4.
2. Nationalist authority
It's a political strategy that combines 2 ideas:
Authority – strong, concentrated power, limited control over rulers and weakening parliament, courts, media and opposition.
Nationalism – the belief that the interests of its own people should take precedence over the rights of individuals, minorities and global obligations.
In specified a system, power usually claims to represent a “real nation”. Critics represent as traitors, abroad elites or abroad agents. The state promotes 1 imagination of history, culture, religion and patriotism, and those who do not fit into this imagination can be treated as second-class citizens.
Typical features of nationalistic authoritarianism are:
the worship of a strong leader;
subjection of courts and media;
limiting the rights of the opposition and social organisations;
aversion to pluralism and minorities;
danger-based propaganda;
identification of the government with the nation;
justifying restrictions on freedom by ‘the welfare of the country’;
hostility towards Ukraine, conducive to the interests of Russia;
chauvinism, with the request to leave the European Union at the head.
Simple as that: The nation becomes an excuse for uncontrollable power.
In the Polish Sejm the most crucial authoritarian parties are:
Law and Justice – 147 Members;
Development of Plus Morawiecki – 40;
Confederation – 16;
Direct Democracy – 4;
Confederation of the Polish Crown Braun – 3.
We have 2 roads...
Democracy or autocracy.
