At the end of the war in Hrubieszowszczyz almost everyone fought anyone. The Polish underground pacified Ukrainian villages in a very brutal way, trying to intimidate Ukrainian nationalists. The aim was to prevent the transfer of the “anti-Polish action” of UPA from Volyn to Lublin.
