From 23 September to the first half of October 2025, on roads almost all over the country, the increased movement of military vehicles associated with the return of forces participating in the ŻELAZNY OBSERVA-25 training federation from the fields to the places of permanent dislocation will be observed.
Transfers will take place through most voivodships, utilizing motorways, expressways and national roads. Like during the exercise marches, the column crossings are besides part of the training. The journeys will be organised so as to affect the current traffic as small as possible. Military columns will be escorted and secured by the Military Gendarmery and subdivisions of the regulations of the Polish Army movement, in cooperation with the Police and local authorities.
Road safety:
The columns will be escorted and secured by the Military Gendarmery, traffic regulation sub-units and police in cooperation with local authorities.
The column may comprise a maximum of 20 vehicles and the distance between the columns shall not be little than 500 m.
A column of 6 and more vehicles begins and ends the vehicle marked with an orange plate with a pictogram of 3 trucks.
The first vehicle in the column has a blue and last green flag.
All military vehicles decision with passing or driving lamps on.
Rules for civilian drivers
Columns shall comply with traffic rules (except for privileged vehicles).
Overtaking of columns is permitted, but the manoeuvre must be carried out in a smooth and continuous manner. Entry between vehicles of the column is prohibited.
Please take peculiar care and follow the instructions of the occupants.
We call on all drivers to take peculiar care, follow the instructions of the road safety guards and take care of their own safety and another traffic participants.

We remind you that in the interests of the safety of the Armed Forces of Poland and the state, it is not essential to print photographs, recordings, exact locations, dates and hours of travel of military columns, nor data concerning the departures and landings of aircraft.

The Federation of exercises under the code name Żelazany Ochrona-25 is 1 of the largest and most crucial planned training projects of the Armed Forces of Poland in 2025. The defensive exercises of the federation are carried out until 26 September both on land and in airspace and in the Baltic Sea. about 30 1000 soldiers from all types of the Polish Armed Forces and NATO allies, with about 600 units of equipment, are involved, who jointly test the ability to deter and effectively defend the territory of Poland.
