New York police shot a man armed with a knife on Friday who was moving on the Brooklyn Bridge ropes.
According to the officers, he ignored repeated calls for the rejection of the weapon and approached 1 of them with a knife – the AP agency reported.
The man told the police rescue squad that he wanted the officers to kill him, and claimed he had a bomb," reported Emergency Service Unit commander Gerard Dowling. Police, harnessed, tried to get him to come down for about an hr and repeatedly called for the knife to be rejected.
