USA: legislature passed interim budget

The home of Representatives voted on Tuesday to extend the current budget until December, delaying the political fight for a full year budget for the post-November elections.

The resolution extending backing to state institutions by 11 December passed with the overwhelming support of the politicians of both parties by 370-48 votes. It was passed by the legislature in July.

Voting means that - unlike almost everyone in the last fewer years - legislature has long in advance dismissed the political conflict for the form of a fresh budget without the strain of shutdown, or the paralysis of national institutions. Both parties thus wanted to avoid the hazard of chaos from the November elections that would decide on a fresh distribution of forces in Congress.

The current budget is valid until 30 September. respective additional provisions were added to the resolution, including postponement of the closure of the legal gap, which has so far in practice enabled the legal sale of THC products across the country. Closing the gap is expected to importantly hit the developing US marijuana industry.
