USA and KANADA | Collection of grave wreaths and monuments of Polish heroes

On the last day of the 10th legislature of the “Polish Newspapers” Clubs, the USA and CANADA commemorated the Heroes.

The wreaths were laid and candles were lit on graves and monuments of Polish heroes at the local cemetery in American Czestochowa, Doylestown.

The ceremony was attended by Tomasz Sakiewicz, Vice-President of Law and Justice Antoni Macierewicz, Deputy Minister of Government for Polish Affairs and Poles abroad Jan Dziedziczak, coordinator of “Polish Newspapers” USA and Canada Maciej Rusiński, coordinator of “Polish Newspapers” clubs Tadeusz Antoniak and editor-in-chief of “Polish Newspapers” portal Adrian Stankowski.

Hundreds of planet War I and planet War II veterans were buried in the cemetery in U.S. Czestochowa. Among the monuments there are: General Władysław Anders, the Cursed Soldiers and a commemorative plaque dedicated to the 1920 Warsaw Battle.

On Friday, the “GP” USA and Canada Clubs' Jubilee Convention, which traditionally takes place in the National Shrine of Our woman of Czestochowa – besides known as American Czestochowa, began.

Yesterday was besides a conference entitled "We build civilian society and a common patriotic front".

– What was most aggravating of those who wanted to control society was a certain ability to organize themselves. The communist strategy truly had all the organizations that operated in a average democratic world. But they could only be with consent and control of power. The real basis of totalitarian systems was the atomization of society, or inability to act together. What the clubs of “Gazeta Polska” proposed was an answer to the vast empty space that existed in Poland – said editor Tomasz Sakiewicz.

During this event Maciej Rusiński, Tadeusz Antoniak and Dr. Teofil Lachowicz from the Association of Polish Army Veterans in America were awarded a badge for Merit for Polish and Polish abroad.
