Washington is forced to rethink spending on military equipment, including due to Russian drones said U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll in an interview with War on the Rocks.
"We inactive build and get these skillful machines that can be destroyed with highly inexpensive drones, and if Russia has produced a million drones in the last 12 months, it simply forces us to rethink the cost of what we are acquiring," he said.
Driscoll stressed that the U.S. could not afford to acquisition equipment for a fewer million dollars that could be destroyed by a $800 drone.
In April, president Vladimir Putin said the Russian army received over 1.5 million drones of various types. He had previously specified that the troops received respective 1000 drones of all destiny all day.
At the same time, the head of state stressed the request to further improve the combat and operational characteristics of unmanned aircraft.
