"The United States gives its most sincere condolences to the victims of today's horrific Russian rocket attack on Suma," wrote Rubio on platform X. "It is simply a tragic reminder of why president Trump and his administration spend so much time and effort trying to end this war and accomplish lasting peace," he added.
Earlier, a rocket attack, in which 34 people were killed, was condemned by an American peculiar Envoy for Ukraine, retired general Keith Kellogg.
"Today's attack of Russian forces on Palm Sunday for civilian purposes in Sumach exceeds all limits of decency. There are dozens of killed and injured civilians," Kellogg wrote on platform X.
The Sunday attack on Suma occurred 2 days after the gathering of American peculiar Envoy for the mediate East Steve Witkoff with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Petersburg. So far, the Trump administration hasn't released a message from this conversation.
