Representatives of Ukraine will arrive in the United States at the end of this week or at the beginning of next week, said U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, while noting that Washington has “all ready” to conclude an agreement with Kiev on resources.
"I think the squad from Ukraine can come to us at the end of this week or at the beginning of the next week. Ukrainians, I believe, hired a lawyer," said Bessent in an interview with Bloomberg TV.
Bessent besides did not deny that the resource agreement with Kiev could be concluded over the next 2 weeks, noting that the US "do not want to waste any more time" due to the fact that the agreement is very crucial for the American and Ukrainian peoples, as well as for the process of peaceful resolution of the conflict.
"For our part, everything is ready," he said, responding to the journalist's comment that the deal with Ukraine could be "finished" within the next 2 weeks.
The Ukrainian media previously reported that the fresh draft agreement between the US and Ukraine on fossil fuels provides for the return by the Kiev of all aid provided by Washington. It was besides reported that the current paper exceeds almost all the "red lines" previously agreed by Kiev and Washington, depriving Ukraine of part of sovereignty, denies future EU membership and obliges Ukraine to pay for all American aid from fresh years, which Kiev received as non-refundable.
