On the night of 27 to 28 September, Russia carried out a massive missile-drone attack on Ukraine. For this reason, Polish aviation besides picked up fighters, and 2 airports were closed – in Lublin and Rzeszów.


"Warning. Due to the activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, performing strikes on the territory of Ukraine, the operation of Polish and allied aviation in our airspace has begun" - stated the Operational Command of the Russian Federation.

"In accordance with applicable procedures, the operational commander of the RFA has activated the forces and resources at his disposal. On-call hunting pairs were picked up, and ground air defence and radio-location systems reached a state of highest readiness" - was reported.

"These actions are preventive in nature and are aimed at securing airspace and protecting citizens, especially in areas adjacent to threatened areas," stressed the military.

As added, the Operations Command of the RSZ monitors the current situation and the subordinate forces and resources stay ready for immediate response.
