According to the proposal for an amendment to the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens, children from Ukraine will receive benefits of 800 plus and 300 plus provided they attend school. The main intent of the amendment is to regulate the payment of the benefit 800 plus for Ukrainian citizens and the "Good Start" supplement of PLN 300 for the acquisition of school expeditions.

“In the case of the second two, an additional request will be introduced that Ukrainian citizens will gotta meet. The task provides that they will be entitled to 800 plus if they live together with the kid in Poland and the kid performs the school work in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 14 December 2016. – Educational law (i.e. diary of Laws of 2023 item 900 as amended), unless this work does not apply to him. Similarly, the grant of 300+ will depend on whether the kid is educated in the school referred to in Article 18 of the education law. At the same time, whether these conditions are met, ZUS will check in the educational information system" “The diary of Legal paper writes on Tuesday.

“Some parents do not attach due importance to the education of children, so they are outside the education strategy – Polish or Ukrainian. Changing the rules can thus mobilise them to enroll their children in schools” – Aneta Żochowska, manager of Lena Grochowska Foundation, evaluates.

Deputy Minister Duszczyk stressed that the school work would apply to Ukrainian children but for students who would take the eighth grade exam and the matriculation. According to his statement, the task assumes the elimination of a one-time benefit of PLN 300 for Ukrainians, i.e. the alleged first development.

Deputy Minister of National Education, Joanna Mucha, announced the introduction of a school work for Ukrainian children residing in Poland since the fresh school year. This will include about 50,000 or 60,000 students.

Earlier Deputy Minister of Education Joanna Mucha expressed her desire to make Polish schools more "friendly" for immigrants, not only from Ukraine. She stressed that more Vietnamese, Hindu and various nationalities in the Polish education strategy would appear.

Joanna Mucha admitted that it is hard to accurately estimation the number of Ukrainian children residing in Poland and utilizing the Polish education system. It is estimated that between 50 and 100 1000 children stay outside the Polish system, mainly utilizing online learning in Ukraine, although a small more attend Polish schools. She pointed out that there are many statistics, including on social benefits collected by Ukrainians, but each of them provides different data.
