In 2027 Poland will have the chance to train military 100,000 volunteers during the year - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He besides announced the adoption of solutions designed to velocity up investment in defence 3 times.


Tusk spoke at the beginning of the Tuesday government meeting. He referred to the idea general military training, He introduced to the Parliament on Friday. As he pointed out, the program is constantly consulted with the head of MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish.

100,000 volunteers per year

The Prime Minister argued that there are no shortages of people willing to service their country, but, as he explained, training is presently not widely available.

"We request to increase the capacity of the state so that everyone interested, anyone curious in military training, can and can participate in it" - he said.

Apart from the professional army and outside the WOT, we must build a de facto army of reservists and this will service our actions," he added.

Tusk recalled that today Basic military training lasts a period and all individual who participates receives PLN 6,000.

"For us, it is most crucial that everyone curious can attend specified training in 2026 at the latest. This means a hard task, but I know that it is feasible" - said the head of government.

By 2027, the number of trainees is to be - as the Prime Minister indicated - doubled.

"In 2027 we will be able to train 100,000 volunteers per year" - declared, adding that proposals by the end of March would most likely be drawn up for the Ministry of Defence as to how a model to increase the number of trainings available would function.

At the moment, basic training in voluntary essential military service may go through About 40,000 people a year. Monthly basic training is an entry into service in operational troops; candidates hold them as part of a voluntary basic military service, which they can then proceed with up to 11 months of specialist training; after this they may, for example, apply for admission to professional service.

The head of government declared that anyone between the ages of 18 and 60 who will be curious in voluntary military training will receive "accurate information", how specified training can take place. Moreover, as the representatives of the MON announced in fresh days, participation in training is to affect various incentives and benefits.

Addressing this issue, Tusk declared that it would be possible to examine, for example, the anticipation of ensuring the completion of the professional driving licence during training.

The Prime Minister added that the government wants to usage the training the possible of veterans, specified as missions to Iraq or Afghanistan, who are no longer associated with the military. "We are talking about large soldiers who have completed their service, e.g. from GROM, or commandos from Ljubljana; we will usage their knowledge, abilities to form a center that individual has called 'Second Mission' in labor. In these trainings they will be priceless" - said Tusk.

Accelerating investment

The Head of Government besides referred to the rules to simplify investment in defence, which the government is expected to address at its Tuesday meeting. It's about MON and MAP. the concept of solutions for strategical and key investments in defence needs of the state. The defence-related solutions discussed by ministers are related to the draft law on circumstantial rules for preparing and implementing strategical investments, which provides for urgent simplification and improvement of the construction of investments specified as the Shield of the East.

Tusk told before the Council of Ministers that the aim of the fresh government is speeding up defence-related investments. The Prime Minister admitted that the task was rather emotional, but - as he assured - The government will be "absolute." "The aim is to guarantee that these investments, concerning our fortifications, border safety and defence industry, are not bound by excessive bureaucratic regulations" - he added.

"I am convinced due to the fact that the presumption is ambitious but feasible - 3 times faster will proceed the investment process after the re-bureaucracy, thanks to this speciality. The military is waiting for this special" - said the head of government, declaring that the case has a "absolute priority".

The bill providing for simplification of investment processes related to defence was announced a fewer months ago by the deputy chief of the MON Cezary Tomczyk. As he explained, it is primarily about speeding up processes, due to the fact that present even tiny and simple investments related to, for example, renovations of buildings in military units can last for respective years.
