"Of course, I am afraid that our biggest contributor to the United Nations and in general for improvement and humanitarian cooperation has drastically reduced its contribution, as well as the level of uncertainty about future developments in the UN contributions assessed," said Guterres at a press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Friedrich Merzem.
He said that the solution to the current problem is to make certain that the global community "makes it clear" to the United States that they gotta meet their obligations.
"But the UN will not fall, as the UN agencies did not fall due to the drastic cuts that occurred earlier this year and global cuts in humanitarian aid and improvement corporations the planet is witnessing. They were able to take action," added the Secretary-General of the planet Organisation.
In March, the UN Secretary-General announced the launch of the UN-80 initiative, which includes an audit of its work to optimise expenditure. The reforms take place in the context of cuts in US contributions to the UN budget and the position of the current US administration on financing humanitarian projects.
