Belarus reported that "in the Brest region in Belarus the remains of the shot down S-300 rocket, launched by Ukrainian air defences fell". Kiev claims that it may have been Russian provocation and argues that his troops did not fire a rocket in that area.

The Ukrainian S-300 air defence rocket fell yesterday in the Brest region of Belarus. The Belta Agency has stated that Belarusian experts are considering 2 possible explanations.
The first assumes a spontaneous drop and a flight in the incorrect direction. The second explanation is that the rocket was shot down by Belarusian air defense. The Belarusian Ministry of Defence later confirmed the second scenario.
"The Ministry of Defence of Belarus confirmed that radar systems detected an air mark coming from Ukraine's territory around 10:00 a.m. local time. It was destroyed after entering Belarus' airspace. The remains fell close the village of Gorbacha in the region of Brest – we read on the endings.pl.
– Belarusian investigators went to the site. They initially determined that the remains of the S-300 strategy rocket were found. Belarusians claim that it was launched by Ukrainian air defences, says the portal.
The materials available on the network indicate that the remains of the projectile have fallen into arable fields, far from the buildings. Kresy.pl point out that "at the time of the incident, Ukraine was inactive resisting a massive Russian rocket attack".
The Ministry of abroad Affairs of Belarus called on the Ambassador of Ukraine. It was requested that the case be thoroughly investigated by Kiev and that the guilty be held accountable.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence issued a message expressing its willingness to participate in the investigation of the incident. Most of the message concerns Russian fire.
– Only the last 2 paragraphs mention straight to the incident. The Ukrainian Ministry clearly suggests that the fall of the rocket would be a Russian provocation – the portal krzyszy.pl states.
– As regards the claims of the Belarusian side, the Ukrainian side is aware of Kremlin's desperate and persistent efforts to draw Belarus into its aggressive war against Ukraine. Therefore, the Ukrainian side does not exclude intentional provocation from the Russian state-terrorist, who set specified a flight way for his maneuvering rockets to provoke their interception into airspace over the territory of Belarus," convinces Kiev.
– The Ukrainian side, reserving its unconditional right to defend and defend its own sky, is at the same time ready to conduct an nonsubjective investigation into the incidental that took place on 29 December over the territory of Belarus as a consequence of the repelling of a massive Russian rocket strike – we read.
"Officially, Ukrainian media, reporting on the case, clearly distance themselves from the case, stating that the territory of Belarus has fallen "as if a Ukrainian rocket had fallen". Attention is drawn to the similarity of the Thursday incidental to the mid-November situation erstwhile another Ukrainian rocket strategy S-300 fell in the Wire at the border with Ukraine. 2 people were killed at the time – he gives the endings.pl.
It is besides worth noting that Kiev takes the authorities in Minsk more seriously than those in Warsaw. The message and readiness to analyse the case rapidly appeared, alternatively than in the case of the shooting of the Polish town of Przewodów, where Polish citizens died.
