The current protest of Polish as well as another European carriers against competition from Ukrainian colleagues takes place simultaneously with the dynamic improvement of production of factories in Poland. The second enjoy an expanding request from Ukraine for trucks.
The agreement between the European Union and Ukraine on unlimited road transport was signed in June 2022 and subsequently extended in March this year to June 2024, reports a fresh study by RMF FM. The latest Central Statistical Office newsletter on production of key products shows that in October the production of road tractors increased by 429% compared to the erstwhile year in terms of tonnage, and the number of specified tractors increased by 44.6%. Last year MAN Trucks in Niepołomice achieved a net profit of PLN 159 million (+40% compared to the erstwhile year) with revenues of PLN 8.8 billion (+22% rdr). From this export increased to PLN 7.3 billion, while the year before that was PLN 5.5 billion.
