The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs Marcin Kierwiński announced that in a fewer days a fresh version of the Act on assistance to Ukrainian citizens who are in Poland will be submitted. This is related to fresh legal regulations in Ukraine, in connection with pro-mobilization activities.

The decision of the Ukrainian government limiting the anticipation of obtaining passports for men of draft age may have crucial consequences for Ukrainian citizens and deserters residing in Poland.

"Any solution concerning Ukrainian citizens residing in Poland is contained in a peculiar law. We have late submitted this bill by 30 June, and in a fewer days we will submit a fresh version of this bill, which will regulate all these issues" - announced the head of the Ministry of Interior.

Kierwiński informed that appropriate actions concerning the current situation would be developed by Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk. In addition, he noted that Poland does not supply information on the Ukrainian side of refugees in the country.

According to Ukrainian media, the message of the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs suggests that Ukrainian citizens will not be deported from Poland regardless of the validity of their passports.

The fresh Ukrainian mobilization bill, which reduces draft age from 27 to 25, has not yet entered into force. However, the MFA of Ukraine has announced that it temporarily suspends the provision of consular services to men abroad. Kuleba, stressed that staying abroad does not relieve citizens of their duties towards their homeland, and so recommended restoring equal treatment for men of conscript age both in Ukraine and abroad.

Portal TSN.ua Notes that Kuleba's message came at the same time as the State-owned company Document's communication, which reported that, for method reasons, no ready passports were issued to Ukrainians abroad. It was later clarified that men who applied for passports by April 25 will receive papers after method defects have been removed. However, it has been stressed that consular posts can now accept applications, but passports will only be issued in Ukraine.

Recently, Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the government was prepared to assist Ukraine in the recovery of men of draft age so that they can aid their homeland in the fight against Russia.

"I am not amazed by the Ukrainian authorities that they will do anything to deliver soldiers to the front" – said the head of the MON, commenting on the halt of the release of ready-made papers for men aged 18-60 by Ukrainian consulates.

The Ministry of abroad Affairs of Ukraine ordered the provision of consular services to men of conscription age from 23 April in order to prevent Ukrainian citizens from avoiding military registration and obtaining military documents. According to Virtual Poland, many attempts to receive passports by groups of men were registered at the Blue City passport point in Warsaw on Wednesday morning. Recordings of dramatic events were made available on social media.

These Ukrainians, referred to, applied for the exchange of papers a fewer weeks earlier in connection with the adoption by the Ukrainian Parliament of the Act on Mobilization on 11 April. Under this law, consular benefits are suspended for men who have not registered in military units.

On Thursday, Lithuania's defence minister, Laurinas Kasčiūnas, announced that Lithuania is considering assisting Ukraine in repatriation men who meet the criteria for military service.
