There are now over 1.5 million Ukrainian citizens in Poland, of which about half a million are children. A large part of them came to Poland, fleeing the war. Children attending Polish schools frequently do not have the chance to learn their native language. Meanwhile, contact with the language and culture of the country of origin is crucial for their identity and appropriate development.
