In preparation for a full-scale war, and so a fast improvement of the SZU, a number of brigade-level operational units were hijacked, which were officially part of the alleged Reserve Corps. The armored and mechanized brigades were besides among the shielded units. Their composition, operational history, and equipment, are not so far well recognized, hence this kind of data is only partial. Part of the Reserve Corps brigade even before the war became part of the operational troops, part was developed, based on existing personnel (in command) and material resources, in the first weeks of the war. The brigades had different degrees of completion and combat readiness, with the improvement of successive battalions, or even companies during the first days of the war, they entered into combat on various sections of the front. The Reserve Corps never appeared as a whole, even individual brigades entered the fighting with parts, usually operated with battalions (companies or battalion tactical groups - KGT/BGT).
