The first vessel, as part of the Ukrainian humanitarian programme "Cherine from Ukraine", wrapped in the port of Dorale on 3 December, delivering 25 000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to Ethiopia.
Let us callback that president Volodymyr Zelenski announced the humanitarian programme "Zarno from Ukraine" on 15 November during the summit of "Group 20".
Within this humanitarian initiative Ukraine plans to send more than 60 ships to Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Congo, Kenya, Yemen, etc.
The programme was supported by countries specified as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Greece, Estonia, EU, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Qatar, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, USA, Turkey, Hungary, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden. Moreover, the grain initiative supports the UN and NATO.
180 million dollars were spent on this program.
The second ship, whose loading ended in the Ukrainian port of Czarnomorsk, will sail next week to Ethiopia with 30,000 tons of wheat on board.
The 3rd vessel, under the initiative of president Volodymyr Zelenski, will deliver 25 000 humanitarian tonnes to Somalia wheat (loading in the port of Odessa).
