In Lviv fraud has been revealed appropriations for assistance following the July 2023 rocket attack The Public Prosecutor's Office and the SBU accuse 2 officials and the head of the municipal company "Rembud" of inflating the cost and price of materials. In total, about 1.7 million hryvnia (~180 1000 PLN) were embezzled. The funds were to scope the injured residents – they were put in the pockets of officials.
Ukrainians stole aid to rebuild after a rocket attack. On Friday, July 25, the Ukrainian police and SBU conducted searches at Lviv City Administration buildings. According to the General Prosecutor's Office, investigators are investigating the proliferation of 1.7 million hryvnia (about PLN 180 thousand) — funds from the local budget to be utilized to rebuild houses on Stryjska Street after the Russian rocket attack on Lviv in July 2023.
As a consequence of the investigation, 2 high-ranking officials of the Lviv Magistrate and the manager of the municipal company heard allegations of embezzlement of funds intended to destruct the effects of Russian rocket fire on the city in 2023.
As it was established, the management of the 2 territory administrations approved overpriced cost documentation without adequate grounds. The municipal company "Rembud" artificially overpriced the prices of windows and building materials for roofs and load-bearing walls.
Therefore, criminal proceedings against the head of the administration of the Frankivska territory — Oksana S., head of the Halická territory administration — Halyna H. and manager of the LKP “Rembud” — Oleh P. Everyone is suspected of abuse of power, and the company's manager – besides of embezzlement of property in peculiarly large sizes.
The Lvov rocket fire in July 2023 caused major harm to residential buildings. The aid for reconstruction was provided by, among others, the Government of Law and Justice, but not only. Part of the funds stolen came from Ukraine's budget.
