A fewer people asked me, why do I compose about Ukrainians and not flags? And isn't writing about the Ukrainians hitting the just Ukrainians? I'll effort to explain:
First of all, behind panic in the interwar twentieth period were activists of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (CNS). The criminal activity of the CNS was primarily from 1929 to 1934, and then Stepan Bandera was not the most important. Later on the crime was committed not only by the Ukrainian Pows dance Army (UPA), but besides by the Ukrainians. Neighbours of Poles, Hungarians, Czechs, Armenians or Russians. They were not pushed into these crimes by any peculiar ideology or nationalistic elevation. They very frequently wanted a cattle of a Polish neighbour, his feathers, a trunk with a dowry or hidden behind a sacred painting for a black hr a golden tsar's “pig”. The murdering Poles of fat in the vast majority did not read “Nationalism” by Dmytro Doncov, “Ten Commandments of Ukrainian Nationalist” by Stepan Łenkowska, or the challenge of Stepan Bandera. The responsibility lies, of course, on the side of the banners (UPA-B), the mercenaries (UPA-M) but besides the Greek Catholic clergy and like an illiterate peasantry.
Secondly, it is simply a model of writing and past in our country. We are talking about the Polish-German War 1939-1945. Not about the war with German military-political organizations specified as: Wehrmacht, Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, SA, SS, NSDAP, etc. And this besides applies to wars with Swedes, Turks or Russians. This facilitates discussions and rejects the confusion on which the bleachers of Ukrainian crimes care.
Thirdly, writing and talking about Ukrainian murders on the population of south-eastern Poland does not exclude in any way the fewer Ukrainians who were the righteous ones. Just as writing about the Germans does not thwart the anti-totaliztic actions of Weiße Rose, Otto Schimek's heroic attitude, or the rescue of Władysław Szpilman by Captain Wehrmacht Wilhelm Hosenfeld. By the way, the Ukrainian anti-Bander organization akin to the German anti-Nazi White Rose, which would argue Ukrainian barbarism from 1939 to 1947, never operated in Ukraine.
PS. present the issue is even more complicated, due to the fact that we have neo-banderers who are not Ukrainians. It happens that we have supporters of neo-banderism among the Baltics, Scandinavians, British, Germans, French and unfortunately Poles.
