Ukraine's real GDP decreased by 2.4% annually in September, e.g. as a consequence of Russian attacks on metallurgical plants, logistical problems and blockades of seaports – the Institute of economical investigation and Political Consultation (IBE), quoted present by UNIAN.
The processing, mining and transport industries were most affected. Production in the processing manufacture decreased by 7% in September, in mining by 12.3 percent, and in transport by 20%, according to IBE estimates.
The problems of the metallurgical manufacture have deepened after Russian attacks. After the rocket strike on 11 August, production at Zaporizstal plants was halted, and on 25 September ArcelorMittal Krzywy Róg reported that the steelworks had been stopped until the end of the war. According to the data cited in September, for a week in Ukraine no steel was produced or tons, which was to be the first specified case in 100 years.
