Ukraine: deepening crisis of parliamentary majority

On 13 January, the ultimate Council of Ukraine (RN) was incapable to approve Denys Shmyhal as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy – only 210 deputies for 226 required, including only 153 from the presidential faction of the Service of the Nation (SN) for 228 members. Call Szmyhal – as well as Mikhayl Fedorov as head of the Ministry of Defence – was not successful until the vote was repeated the next day.
