Ukraine intensifys attacks on Crimea. Russian positions under expanding pressure

Since the beginning of the war, the situation of the Russians in this territory seized in 2014 has never been so difficult. On the night of 23 on 24 June, a key railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal was destroyed, heavy damaged in the erstwhile attack. Another bridge, Kerchenski, connecting Crimea to the Taman Peninsula through the Kerchen Strait, opened in 2018, was to become a symbol of Russian regulation over the conquered land. However, it does not bring crucial benefits to the occupiers. According to experts in the independent Russian paper “Noovaya Gazeta”, military transport practically does not exist, trucks are not allowed in, and even fuel trains cannot pass through. Moreover, the bridge is closed for many hours due to Ukrainian attacks.
