European military assistance to Ukraine will scope a evidence level this year. The associate States of the European Union will allocate €25 billion for this purpose, reported EU advanced typical for abroad Policy and safety Kaja Kallas in the European Parliament. It's more than ever.
100 percent already in October
Kaja Kallas estimated the full value of financial assistance granted from the beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine at EUR 169 billion. Over EUR 63 billion of this amount has been allocated to military support. The EU is besides implementing a plan to acquisition another 2 million artillery ammunition for the Ukrainian armed forces this year.
By now, the associate States have already provided 80 percent and the goal is to scope 100 percent in October. All of this is to enable Ukraine defends against Russia, as Kaja Kallas explained.
Request for fresh sanctions against Russia
To the government in Kiev, that's good news. At the same time, however, it must deal with a crucial decline in arms supply from the US after president Donald Trump took office. Kaja Kallas did not address this issue in her speech in Parliament.
She called on Members to support plans for a new, effective package of sanctions against Russia. She stressed that global sanctions had already caused Russia to have $450 billion (€383 billion) little funds to wage war. The losses in oil sales alone amounted to $154 billion (€121 billion).
