The American ship is sinking after a nipponese rocket attack... as part of exercises

The Americans together with the naval self-defense forces of Japan conducted the second SINKEX exercise this year in the Hawaiian Islands operating area, which sank an ex-USS "Denver" landing ship. Interestingly, an American floating unit was attacked not only with coastal anti-ship missiles, but besides with missiles fired from the HIMARS terrestrial artillery system. A fewer days earlier, an ex-American frigate like Oliver Hazard Perry was sunk in the same place as part of the first SINKEX exercise.
