WEEK IN THE ‘POLISH GAZETA’ CLUBS – 29.01.2025 Fee meetings at ‘GP’ clubs

On January 19–21, 2025, members of the clubs "GP" took part in the historical event – the inauguration of Donald Trump's presidency in Washington DC. The organizer of the journey was tv Republic, which prepared a rich program for participants, including not only participation in the swearing-in ceremony, but besides a number of accompanying events.

During their stay in the capital of the United States, participants had the chance to attend a Polish-American conference attended by politicians, experts from Poland and the USA and representatives of tv Republic. The discussions focused on the future of transatlantic relations and Poland's function in global politics. The item of the program was the inaugural ceremony, during which Donald Trump officially took office as president of the United States. Members of “Gazeta Polska” clubs had a unique chance to witness this historical moment. The journey organized by tv Republic met with the enthusiastic reception of club members who appreciated the chance to participate in specified an crucial event.

In mid-January, 2 highly successful meetings were held with Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Polska” and “Gazeta Polska Daily”, president of the tv Republic. The organizers were the “Polish Gazeta” Clubs in Aleksandrów Łódź and Miechów. The area in both places was filled to the brim.

Łódź ALEXANDRS In Aleksandrów Łódź the gathering was opened by the president of the “Gazeta Polska” Club – Kamil Wyderka, who welcomed the gathered and briefly presented the guests. Tomasz Sakiewicz spoke about the current political situation in Poland and the function of the media in shaping public opinion. He highlighted the challenges faced by journalists in a time of disinformation and the importance of independent media in a democratic society. He spoke of the work of journalists for providing reliable information and stressed the importance of supporting the media, which upholds the truth. In turn Paweł Piekarczyk enriched the gathering with his artistic work. His songs, full of patriotic and social messages, moved the present and introduced a reflective mood.

CARS | The recently established “Gazeta Polska” Club in Miechów, led by Piotr Natkaniec, invited to a gathering with Tomasz Sakiewicz, which was held in the parish hall at the Basilica of the Grave of God. Here, too, the hall is filled with the last place, which shows large interest in the residents. Tomasz Sakiewicz shared his reflections on the function of the media in building independent Poland and the challenges facing civilian society. The editor-in-chief of the “GP” highlighted the challenges facing Poland today, stressing the importance of media unity and independence. His words about the request for civic participation met with large interest of the listeners.

COUNTRY | On Jan Matejka Square in Krakow, a protest was held under the motto "Against the liquidation of the Polish state by the coalition on 13 December". The event attracted crowds of residents of the city and surrounding areas united in defence of Poland's sovereignty. The organizers of the protest were Ryszard Majdzik, the Krakow club “Polish Newspapers” and the Inter-founded Organization of the NSZZ “Solidarność” at the Małopolska Region. Jan Matejka Square was filled with people who came to express their opposition to actions which according to the organizers endanger the independency of Poland. Participants held white-red flags and password banners. The protest was not only an expression of opposition to concrete political actions, but besides a proof of the strength and unity of Polish society in the face of threats. The organizers stressed that specified events are essential to remind about the values that form the foundation of independent Poland.

HUNGARY MOUNTAIN The Hungarian Górka “Gazeta Polish” Club took part in the poignant performance of the Free Word Zone, Paweł Piekarczyk, entitled “In tribute to the heroes”. The performance was dedicated to the Cursed Soldiers. The organizer of the event was the Chief of Kašnica, Piotr Moń. Among the invited guests were: MP Grzegorz Gaża, household of NSZ Captain Henryk Flamego, ps. Bartek, Union of Podhalan Branch of Żywieckie Mountain with its seat in Milówka. Members of the “Gazeta Polska” Jelesnia Club and many local residents were present. Spread-out roll-ups presenting respective well-known Soldiers of almost natural size, films which were an illustration of songs sung by Leszek Czajkowski, and stories by Paweł Piekarczyk accompanying songs and his wonderful voice expressing a full array of emotions, made an extraordinary impression. The performance was held in the village at the ft of Baranya Góra, which was the center of guerrilla activities in the region both during and after the war.

THIS | As all year, many people took part in a carol gathering organized under the aegis of the Tyki club “Gazeta Polska” and the household and Identity Association. The interest was so large that it was essential to add additional chairs and tables. However, insignificant inconveniences were rewarded by the wonderful atmosphere, the joy of the gathering together, and the lively singing of both performers and participants. The gathering began with the welcome of many guests, among whom were local councillors of PiS, councillors of the Sejm of the Silesian Voivodeship, councillors of Katowice, representatives of the “Polish Gazeta” Club in Bielsko-Biala, headed by Mrs Basia Niedzielska, and Minister Michał Wójcik. The minister started singing together with a recital consisting of popular Polish and abroad musical compositions. After an excellent performance by Michał Wójcik, Mirek Kańtor took over the musical baton, which led the singing of the carols. The president of the Tyki club “Gazeta Polska” together with Ania Syrek presented the club’s activities in 2024 on 42 slides. It was an highly busy year, most likely the most intense in the 14-year past of the Tyki club “Gazeta Polska”.

FAITH | Klub “Gazeta Polska” in Poznań participated in the gathering of fresh year members and sympathizers of the Law and Justice Department, under the leadership of a long-time associate of the Poznań club “GP”, MP Bartłomiej Wróblewski. The gathering was attended as a peculiar guest of Mrs. Elżbieta Witek, erstwhile talker of the Polish Parliament. The MP welcomed all the participants of the gathering and summed up the last year in the country under the coalition on 13 December and recalled the achievements in Wielkopolska during both terms of the regulation of the United Right. Ms Witek then spoke, and she recalled the achievements of the Law and Justice in both terms throughout the country. Both the talker and the associate stressed the request to mobilise and affect all members and supporters of the Law and Justice organization in their work for the upcoming presidential elections. After the speeches, the MP and the talker presented their commemorative thanks for their work in the Law and Justice Offices and for their outstanding commitment to members, sympathizers and friendly organisations. Among the winners were members of “GP” clubs: Iwona Brzozowska, Ewa Ciosek, Maria Zawadzka from Poznań club and Robert Michalski from “Gazeta Polska” club Mosina-Puszczykowo.
