Citizens of the Republic of Moldova will go to urn on 28 September 2025. The decision to set a date for the parliamentary elections was taken on 17 April, with 57 Members voting in favour, 32 abstentions.
The president of the Igor Grosu Parliament stressed that this year's elections are crucial.
"We will either put an end to everything that has been achieved on a European and modernisation path, closing our chances of joining the European Union, or moving on the way of improvement and peace," said Grosu.
Let us remind you that on 12 December, during a parliamentary meeting, the head of the Moldovan peculiar Services warned that Russia may effort to take control of Parliament in 2025, at the time of parliamentary elections.
President Maia Sandu besides warned that a possible pro-Russian majority in the future parliament could pose a serious threat to Moldova's plans for integration with the European Union.
