Recent polls show the increasingly weak position of Donald Tusk's camp and the increasing conviction of Poles that the current coalition will not hold power after the election in 2027. At the same time, the divided around Mateusz Morawiecki hits the PiS and complicates the layout on the right. The stakes are simple: will Poland get a government of national interest or another puzzle of individual ambitions?
Most people don't believe in the sustainability of government.
Politics seldom ends with 1 poll. Sometimes, however, respective studies are arranged in a clear picture. July 2026 shows that Donald Tusk's office has entered the real consumption phase, and that belief in his second word is weakening even where the assurance inactive prevailed recently.
According to a survey by United Surveys by IBRiS for Virtual Poland, conducted on 10-12 July on a typical example of 1,000 adult Poles, 58.3% of respondents believe that the current coalition will lose power. 22.9 percent of respondents believe in the re-win of the rulings, and 18.8% have no opinion. This is not the consequence of the election yet. This is simply a political barometer. It shows that Tusk's story of inevitability breaks.
Especially meaningful is the distribution of moods inside electorates. Among the voters of the current coalition, 19% foretell her defeat, and 17% neglect to measure the government's chances. The opposition has a completely different mood: 95 percent of its voters are convinced that after 2027 there will be a change of power. This is the failure of political initiative.
Math is ruthless for the coalition
The second signal came from organization polls. In a survey by United Surveys by IBRiS for Virtual Poland dated 10-12 July, the Civic Coalition had 28.6 percent, the Law of the Law of the Holy Spirit, the Confederation of 15.7%, the Confederation of the Polish Crown 10.2%, the Left of 7.5 percent, and the PSL 5.2 percent.
The simulation of the mandates given by the “Rzeczpospolita” was brutal for the rulers. KO, Left and PSL would have 201 tickets together, which is not adequate for the majority. PiS with the Confederation and Confederation of the Polish Crown could number on 259 seats. In this variant, Tusk does not lose the narrative. He loses the seismic arithmetic.
For Poland this means an chance to end governments which besides frequently look at the state through the interests of Brussels, media applause and organization war. But the chance alone isn't enough. The right can only win if it shows that it understands the burden of responsibility: border security, energy sovereignty, economical freedom, household defence and the real position of Poland in Europe.
The divided in the PiS changes the arrangement
The problem is that the right enters at this minute not as a compact formation, but as a camp after a strong shock. Jarosław Kaczyński's dispute with Mateusz Morawiecki, focused around the Association improvement Plus, went beyond a simple discussion about strategy. After an ultimatum on loyalty, there were respective twelve parliamentarians associated with the erstwhile Prime Minister who did not comply with the expectations of the leadership of the Law and Justices.
Recent reports from July 28 say that the Political Committee of the Law and Justice did not remove Morawiecki's people from the party, but referred the case to the disciplinary spokesperson Karol Karski. This formally suspends the decision, but politically does not reverse the crack. Voters see conflict. They see ambition. They see the question as to whether the right can order its own home before attempting to take work for the state.
The IBRiS survey for "Rzeczpospolita", conducted on 24-25 July by CATI method on a group of 1,000 respondents, showed that in the variant with the group improvement Plus Law and Law and the fresh formation of Morawiecki it receives 7.4 percent. KO maintains 30.1%, Confederacy has 12.3 percent, Confederation of the Polish Crown 10.9%, and Leftice 7 percent. The full widely understood right-wing block retains a strong score, but voices spread differently.
Morawiecki as quarterback
Even more interesting is the variant described by Polish Radio 24 behind Virtual Poland. Without the fresh Morawiecki PiS party, the Confederation and Confederation of the Polish Crown would have a full of 258 seats. With the improvement + You Group, the deal changes: the organization of the erstwhile Prime Minister gets 7.5% and 31 seats, the Law and Justice Department drops to 88 seats, and the right-wing majority inactive exists, having a full of 253 seats.
It means that Morawiecki can become a tongue in weight. For some, he will be a candidate for Prime Minister more widely accepted by the centre. For others, the symbol of a technocratic twist, any of which the right-wing electorate has had enough. In both cases, the question is the same: is the fresh configuration to service Poland, or is it just to rearrange chairs within the erstwhile power camp?
In the background there is simply a problem of Tusk himself. The SW investigation survey for rp.pl, conducted on 21-22 July at a example of 800 netizens, indicated that in the script of the government created by KO after the election of Radosław Sikorski as a better candidate for Prime Minister, 25.2% of respondents indicated, and Donald Tusk 17.1%. The largest group, 32.6 percent, assessed both equally. It's a signal that even in a liberal camp the name Tusk no longer acts as a political warrant of victory.
Test for the Polish Right
There's no point in pretending that everything is settled. There is inactive plenty of time until the parliamentary elections planned for 2027. The polls can change. The parties will fight for narrative, money, media and emotions. But today's direction is clear: the Tusk government is losing credibility and the right has a real way to the majority.
But this way can be wasted. If the dispute on the right is brought to individual settlement, Poles will get chaos alternatively of alternatives. If work prevails, it is possible for a government that puts national interest first: Polish borders, Polish economy, Polish household and Polish sovereignty.
Therefore, the question of the next Prime Minister is important, but not the most important. The name only matters if the program and the ability to regulation is behind it. Poland does not request another cabinet from administering another people's expectations. He needs power that knows that the state is simply a safety tool for the nation, not a scene for a organization theater.
