Shortly after the Citizen Coalition candidate called on the president of the IPN to participate in the debate on Friday, Prime Minister Tusk spoke. On X he wrote: "Rafal Trzaskowski proposed a debate to Karol Nawrock! Not in Warsaw, in Koński! He didn't have to. He took the risk, despite the clear advantage in the polls."
In the following part of the entry, the Prime Minister inserted a pin into a longtime rival on the political stage. PiS president has long avoided direct clashes with opponents. – "Kaczyński always ran from the one-on-one clash. Will his candidate be a coward too? We'll see on Friday." – wrote Donald Tusk.
Karol Nawrocki corresponds to Trzaskowski
On Wednesday morning, the president of Warsaw published video material online. In the first frames we see Trzaskowski watching an earlier speech by the president of the IPN, in which Nawrocki said, "I would like to call Rafal Trzaskowski to the debate".
– Mr. Karol Nawrocki, I hear you want to debate. Come in. I'm just informing you, we'll gotta answer the questions of journalists. It's Friday at 8:00. I'm waiting for you in Horses. Do you have adequate courage? – he said.
He's had answers. Before noon, Karol Nawrocki on X stated that he was pleased that military training, which was late praised by Trzaskowski, "took him to male decisions." He besides recalled that he had been calling for a countercandidate for debate for weeks.
"You are utilized to the greenhouse conditions of your campaign, and this proposal is besides comfortable for you. But it doesn't substance to me - I'm ready" wrote the PiS candidate.
However, he set 1 condition. And it reads, "participants are to take all the TVs, including those that can't ask you questions at conferences. Let the details of the staff work out." The post ended with: "I'm coming for you @smukowski_ , see you in Horses!".
Let us remind that, in consequence to citizens' expectations, the 3 largest stations – TVP, TVN and Polsat – agreed to hold a joint presidential debate. It is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 12, at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcast simultaneously on the antennas of all 3 broadcasters. Details, specified as who will lead it, are not yet known.
