Donald Tusk reported on August 29 that after talking to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, he assessed the next six months as conclusive for the region's security. The Prime Minister warned against further escalation of Russia and possible provocations towards the States of the Alliance. For Poland this means strengthening air defence and preparedness for different scenarios.

Warning after talking to the NATO chief

Donald Tusk reported on Saturday 29 August that Mark Rutte presented to him an assessment of the situation in the region and on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The Prime Minister wrote that the escalation from Russia is progressing and Ukraine needs more support in the air. He connected this request straight to the safety of Poland.

Reported Republic of Tusk with NATO Secretary-General The head of government indicated the six-month horizon as decisive for the situation in the region. Poland and the Alliance are to be ready for different scenarios. Tusk besides did not exclude Russian provocations against 1 of the NATO states.

This informing needs to be taken seriously. Russia tests the opposition of the West with military actions, information pressures and attempts to make divisions. Poland is lying on the east flank of the Alliance, which is why individual else's hazard assessment mistake can become our problem very quickly.

Air defence besides applies to Poland

The postulate of a stronger cover of the Ukrainian sky is not a charitable motion separated from the Polish interest. all Russian rocket detained further from our border reduces the hazard to the Polish territory. However, support must go together with strengthening its own stocks, radars, aviation and ground air defence.

Poland cannot choose between the assistance of a fighting Ukraine and the safety of its own citizens. The State has a work to work with allies so that both tasks are mutually reinforcing. Failure to decide on further Patriot sets shows how much concrete work remains on the side of the government and the MON.

NATO led by Rutte consistently points to the request to increase the supply of air defence resources to Ukraine. Declarations alone do not capture drones or rockets. Production capacity, efficient logistics and pre-crisis decisions are important, not after the airspace has been breached.

Six months to prepare, not for speeches.

Tusk rightly speaks of Poland and NATO's readiness. The government should now translate this diagnosis into a clear account of actions: the state of air defense, the safety of critical infrastructure, the resilience of communication systems and the cooperation of civilian institutions with the military. Public opinion doesn't request operational data. However, it has the right to know whether the state closes the gaps found.

Earlier launching Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty following violations of the Alliance space recalls that safety guarantees work erstwhile procedures and ready forces are behind them. Alliance solidarity is important, but Poland must besides have its own ability to respond quickly. Sovereignty is not about loneliness. It's about not being a helpless petent in an alliance.

Russian force requires national seriousness

The challenge informing should not service as a organization game or as a silence of legitimate criticism by the authorities. State safety requires government, president, army and opposition cooperation. It besides requires honest information due to the fact that communication chaos is simply a gift for Moscow.

The next six months will be a test primarily for state fitness. Poles have the right to anticipate that the alarm declared by the Prime Minister already means concrete preparations. The Russian threat is real. Poland's answer must be equally real.
