According to the latest poll of the Pollster investigation Institute commissioned by the “Super Express”, most Poles express disappointment at the implementation of election promises by the Donald Tusk government. The results of the survey, published on Wednesday, indicate that as many as 62% of respondents believe that the government does not meet its obligations. Only 27 percent of respondents are of a different opinion, and 11 percent have no opinion on the subject.
The survey was conducted on 8-9 August 2024 on a typical example of 1011 adults Poles. The question put to the respondents was, "Do you think the Donald Tusk government is fulfilling its promises?". The results clearly point to a dominant negative assessment of government activities.
Survey: A crisis of assurance in government?
The results of this survey may indicate a deepening crisis of public assurance in the current government. 62% of respondents who responded "no" are a crucial number, which can show the increasing disappointment of society in the implementation of government policy. In the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections, this discontent rate may have serious consequences for the political future of the ruling party.
Expectations vs Reality
Promises are crucial in electoral campaigns. They are the ones that are mobilising voters and building assurance in the future government. Donald Tusk, as leader of the Civic Platform, promised a number of reforms and actions to improve the economical situation, education, wellness care and support for the mediate class and little prosperous citizens.
However, as the poll of Pollster shows, a large part of society does not see the fulfillment of these promises. Is this the consequence of the hard economical situation in the world, or is it the insufficient efficiency of the government? The answer to this question remains open, but 1 thing is certain: the government faces a serious challenge to regain the assurance of Poles.
Government Perspective
Of course, from a government perspective, the situation may look different. After all, political promises frequently face many obstacles: both interior and external. The pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the global economical crisis – these are just any of the factors that may have affected the simplification of the ability to implement ambitious government plans.
Donald Tusk's government may argue that certain reforms require time and patience. We have seen examples of specified difficulties in implementing political commitments in the past, including in another countries.
Analysis of survey results
The results of the poll Pollster besides point to a group of Poles who do not have an opinion on the implementation of promises by the government – 11 percent of respondents replied "I don't know". This may propose that part of the public is not full aware of the government's actions or that it is besides early to measure the effectiveness of its policies.
What's next?
It cannot be hidden that poll results can be a informing signal to Donald Tusk's government. In the face of increasing social dissatisfaction, it may be essential to amend the communication strategy and intensify efforts to implement the electoral promises.
Time will show whether the government will be able to regain citizens' assurance and deliver on their promises. Meanwhile, the public will surely look closely at the government's further action, especially in the context of the upcoming elections.
Summary
The survey of the Pollster investigation Institute commissioned by the “Super Express” clearly shows that most Poles have a critical opinion on the implementation of election promises by the Donald Tusk government. The results of the survey may pose a serious challenge for the government, which will gotta take steps to reconstruct social assurance and effective implementation of its programme.
