On Thursday there will be a gathering of the alleged coalition of volunteers, which brings together 32 countries cooperating on Ukraine and its support in the war with Russia. Prime Minister Donald Tusk will besides be there. The gathering was scheduled around 10:30.
Meeting of coalitions willing for Ukraine
According to Reuters, the gathering will take place in hybrid format. The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen will participate alongside Tusk and Macron.
According to the Elysée Palace, most of the preparatory work begun after the first gathering of the coalition in February is almost complete. The aim is, inter alia, to consolidate Ukraine's armed forces in order to keep the position of force in the event of a ceasefire and to deploy global forces to guarantee safety in non-contact zones.
"The key message on Thursday will be readiness and ability to act" – indicated. U.S. president Donald Trump stressed earlier that Europeans would gotta take on most of the burden of safety guarantees. At the same time, after meetings with Vladimir Putin and the European leaders, he declared his readiness to support European efforts.
The president of Ukraine will be in France
The gathering will besides be attended by the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski, who will appear in Paris.
Importantly, this week Vladimir Putin stated that during a gathering with US president Donald Trump last period in Alaska he achieved "agreements" on the end of the war in Ukraine. However, he did not uncover whether he would agree to peace talks with the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski.
